CASE NO. 1

Google is a highly successful internet business. Recently they have broadened their scope with a multitude of new tools.

1. Who are their competitors?

Answer:

Now a days all people are using technologies that's why internet is being invented by a programmer. They created software programs to developed more application like GOOGLE. Google is the most popular "SEARCH ENGINE", the Google face competition in every aspect of their rapidly evolving business, particularly from other companies that seek to connect people with online information and provide them with relevant advertising. Currently in every businesses there are lots of competitors but they consider their primary competitors are Microsoft and Yahoo. And also Google is a friendly user, all information you want to know are all their not like Yahoo, the information they have is always a comment form a researcher they are not reliable in dictionary like Webster or etc.

According to Physorg.com Microsoft and Google have been consistently upgrading online search service features in what has thus-far been a lop-sided duel favoring the Mountain View, California-based Internet king. The competitors have made priorities of improving mobile search offerings and incorporating real-time content from popular online communities such as Twitter, MySpace and Facebook, even though it acknowledged competition from unnamed start-ups and established companies that are enhancing or developing search technologies. Companies are fond of saying that search engine technology is still in its infancy and that consequently an opportunity exists to unseat Google as leader. No one can beats GOOGLE.COM.

2. How have they used information technology to their advantage?

Answer:

Their are lots of advantages in every application but Google used information technology to their advantage because the environment of google is friendly user it easy to access and find what you want to find. And the main goal of Google is to shared information to the users because you just enter what you want to know and click search to find out the result immediately, through that they helps us to gathered information at a period of time.

In our generation, people are so dependent in Technology in gathering information there are lots of people using the Google to find out what they really want to know. Google is a best example of Information Technology because all the information that they being posted are all relevant and reliable. The people become more knowledgeable and aware in the environment or in our society because Google is so updated in terms of Information even if it is News, Education, Sports, Places, Object, and etc.

3. How competitive are they in the market?

Answer:

Google now a days is so rampant in terms of their market because google is the most popular search engine among the rest. They are lots of business Market that are willing to invest in google because their are lots of people who is always visiting the google. In that way it easy to be productive While their results aren’t optimal, they are good enough. Just like Microsoft Windows was good enough to dominate the market.

Google, according to Hitwise, now has 64 percent of the total search market. And although a typical Google query can often be an act of futility, we put up with it because the results are fast. If they’re wrong, we can just start all over again. The faster the results show up on our browsers, the less inclined we’ll be to switch to a rival search engine, no matter how great the rival’s search methodology may be. The faster (and more efficient) its infrastructure, the more easily Google can keep serving the ad-based money machine.

4. What new services do they offer?

Answer:

The new services of Google that they offer are the following, complete online purchases more quickly and securely, A browser built for speed Meet new people and stay in touch with friends, Get email updates on the topics of your choice, Find blogs on your favorite topics, A browser built for speed, stability and security, Search the web, organized by topic or category, Search for images on the web, Search thousands of news stories, Search scholarly papers, Search billions of web pages, Developer tools, APIs and resources, Create and share your online documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, Create mailing lists and discussion groups, View web pages in other languages, and get Google products on your mobile phone. Through that new services that they being offer thier are more productive and well known.

5. What makes them so unique?

Answer:

Obviously it makes them so unique because it is easy to emulate Google, everyone would have done it or would be doing it by now. The more I think about Google, the more and more I think it is going to be impossible to emulate them. Certainly you can steal some of their ideas and what they’ve pioneered and put it to use in your company, but outright copying Google is going to be near impossible.

One thing that has become evident to me is that Google grows in an organic fashion, unlike any other company I know of. Google develops tools that are internally useful and then releases them to the world. Google does not develop products to sell to the world. Google does not have external contracts, at least in the traditional sense, as far as I can tell.

Google doesn’t answer to any external power. They don’t have anyone they have to deliver a product to. There is no contract with a deadline. Due to not having any external dependencies, Google can continuously iterate over a product until it reaches a state of near perfection. It can stay in internal testing as long as Google wants and no one is going to care. See Gmail, Google Maps, etc. This then allows Google to use the perfect form of the agile process. Continuous iterations and testing and development, continues improvement. Then as Google sees fit, release the products. As they get better and better, more people use them and more money from ads come in. It’s beautiful.

6. How competitive are they in the international market?

Answer:

Actually going global is a means of survival. It manufactures, conducts research, raises capital, and buys supplies wherever it can do the job best. It keeps in touch with technology andmarket trends around the world. National boundaries and regulations tend to be irrelevant, or a merehindrance. A company headquarters might be anywhere. Google is competitive in the international market because Google is a well known search engine not even in Philippines but in World Wide Web. Through that they are so popular in terms of their application, the software program that they being used is easy to access and manipulate or gathered information.
